Overlooking the freshwater expanse of Loch Rannoch, this Highland holiday home sleeps eight across three bedrooms. It stands on a private wooded estate at Kinloch Rannoch in Perth and Kinross, a quiet setting for days that run from a morning on the water to a film night indoors. The setting suits guests who want the loch and woodland within easy reach.
The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner forms the heart of the accommodation. The lounge has charming sofas and a TV, with traditional tartan soft furnishings adding a Scottish note. The kitchen/diner sits up a shallow step at one end of the room, with space for everyone at the table. By prior arrangement, two guests can sleep in the lounge on a pull-down double bed. Sliding doors lead through to the conservatory, which looks straight out over the loch and becomes an enclosed balcony when its large windows slide back. The three bedrooms are made up of one double and two twins. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC, while the shower room has a walk-in shower and a WC. There is no private outside space, although you can explore the 7 acres of grounds with woodland and footpaths that are shared with other guests. Free parking is available in the on-site car parks on a first come, first served basis.
Loch Rannoch itself shapes most days here. Fishing and wildlife watching are available, with equipment hire for paddling out onto the water. Follow local walks and cycle routes, or head to The Cairngorms National Park, 13 miles away. Explore The Falls of Bruar, Kenmore, Loch Tay, and The Falls of Acharn, all within 18 miles.
