Holiday with your dog at our pet-friendly accommodation in Castleton

Castleton is a pleasant town in the dog-friendly region of the Peak District, which is a popular choice for visitors who like to wayfare underground. Whilst organised caving and potholing trips can be embarked upon, head to Castleton for caves where you don’t have to get kitted up in lots of safety gear, and you can even take your dog. The show caves in around Castleton are dog-friendly making it a great place for canine lovers as well as underground explorers. Head into Treak Cavern, which is where you will find Europe’s largest natural cave mouth, a true spectacle. You may even prefer heading into the underworld when you venture through the deepest of them all at Peak Cavern. This show cave is where you will find the uncanny Bottomless Pit.

Back above ground, our pet-friendly accommodation in Castleton is situated near the White Peak in the lee of Mam Tor, a classic Peak District limestone gorge, ripe for treks with your hound. High above the village are the curious ruins of the 11th century Peveril Castle, built by the Normans. The views across the surrounding moors and hills is phenomenal.

Castleton and the surrounding Derbyshire area is also well-known for its semi-precious mineral stone, Blue John. Unique to the immediate area, it is found in seams deep below the surface and mined near the village. Throughout Castleton, you will see jewellery to buy in specialist shops.

We have a selection of attractive dog-friendly holiday cottages in and around Castleton and the White Peak area. From luxury accommodation that welcomes pets, to cute country cottages and stylish converted barns, check out our collection of dog-friendly cottages to feel inspired. Book your next dog-friendly holiday in the Peak District today.
