The practical cottage-style kitchen has everything you need to prepare romantic meals or quick breakfasts and contains a table where you can tuck into delicious dinners together. Rest tired paws and feet in the welcoming lounge, which is set underneath a beamed ceiling and heated by a gas fire. Completing the ground floor is a family bathroom with shower over the bath. Upstairs, a second lounge space provides a perfect spot for getting stuck into a good book. When you are ready for some shuteye, the sophisticated bedroom contains a stunning four-poster bed so you can sleep in style. Outside, a charming patio space has a bistro set and a BBQ. Dine alfresco and admire the far-reaching countryside views as the dog sniffs about. Private parking is provided for two cars.

The Peak District is an undulating haven for wildlife lovers and keen walkers. You won’t be short on choices of routes which will set tails wagging. Climb Mam Tor (3 miles) and be rewarded with spectacular views, or visit Ladybower Reservoir (6 miles) for scenic trails alongside the water. The quaint village of Castleton (0.5 miles) has a handy shop and a couple of dog-friendly pubs where you can grab a bite to eat on your way home from exploring.
