Property was clean, warm and well equipped. We were very lucky with the weather and went out each day. We had a mobility scooter in the back of the car and loved driving in the little lanes to different places. Lack of radio signal was a bother to us. Local shop sells good ice cream and goodies. Castleton is a lovely little place.

Quite a dark and damp cottage (not it's fault, it's in a hill). Garden has nice views but perhaps the steep steps aren't suitable for older people or young children. Good location, in the centre of things and it has parking (which a lot of places in Castleton don't). Don;t forget to bring tea/coffee/milk as these weren't provided.

A very warm, cosy cottage. The double bed was very comfortable. Ideal for wet dogs as the floor could easily be cleaned. Excellent location for walking and evening dining.

Oatcake Cottage is as great little place and exactly what you want from a cottage of that age and setting. Comfortable, cosy and clean. Location is excellent for those wandering off on adventure walks and so convenient for the many pub's and shop's. Can't fault the Cottage or Castleton. Definitely one to return to.

Lovely location and a pleasant property, though a little smaller than it looks in the pictures. A wealth of information about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as did Bob, our Parsons JR, who made new friends wherever he went on the many, many nearby walks.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location. The beds were really comfy and we loved what Castleton had to offer. Our dogs loved their holiday too, although if your dogs are fussy about going on grass, which we discovered ours are, then its useful to know the nearest patch of grass is just a 1-minute stroll down the hill.

Whilst the cottage is small, it is comfortable enough for 4 adults. It is also well equipped and is in a good location for access to pubs, restaurants and shops, etc.
