Pet-friendly holidays & accommodation in the Peak District
An endless walking paradise through beautiful a landscape for dogs and owners alike
Packed with characterful villages, breathtaking views and, of course, countless tracks and trails for a w-a-l-k, our dog-friendly accommodation in the Peak District is the pawfect place to take a blissful break with your canine companion, spanning mostly Derbyshire as well as parts of Cheshire, Staffordshire and Yorkshire. The Peak District's diverse landscape keeps any ramble interesting, with fascinating vistas and glorious estates all around to appreciate, plus plenty of settlements complete with dog-friendly pubs to put your feet up and relax with your best friend by your side.
Whether it’s a tough hike through sparsely populated valleys, rolling moors of heather and hay, or wooded canopies alongside flowing streams, a pet-friendly holiday in the Peak District has something to cater to your walking requirements. Dogs will love the freedom of the area with so many new things to discover from our pet-friendly Peak District cottages, and while you’re welcome to wander away from the paths in certain areas, the marked trails will help you take in as much of the region as possible on your break. Also, note that for certain times of the year dogs must be kept on leads in certain areas, so do check in advance before setting off lead-free.
Strolls around the Little Longstone area take in some of the Peak District’s most dramatic scenery, whilst the Shatton to Hathersage route is comprised of pretty lanes, meadowland and quaint hamlets, or you can stay near Carsington Water for pretty walks around the reservoir. A walk in the Chatsworth area allows you to leisurely discover the region with the stunning backdrop of the famous Chatsworth Estate; it’s well worth visiting the house itself, plus dogs can join you in the gardens and parkland. Ashbourne, Bakewell, Hartington, Matlock and Castleton are all idyllic villages, picture-pawfect and also more than worthy of a visit while you’re in the area, as are the towns of Buxton and Derby, often seen as the gateways to the Peak District. Our dog-friendly Peak District guide will also give you the head-up on even more dog-tastic places to visit during your dog-friendly break.
