Pet-friendly holidays and accommodation in Staffordshire
Theme parks and the great outdoors play a big part in Staffordshire’s appeal, which means there’s plenty to keep you and your canine content
Stunning vistas and historic towns combine for a picturesque county, as Staffordshire encompasses huge theme parks, beautiful gardens and dog-friendly estates to create a region that’s perfect for everyone. Country parks offer the perfect opportunity to walk with your four-legged friend and take in the glorious surroundings, whilst the north of the county features a section of the Peak District to explore.
All dogs love a good w-a-l-k, and there’s plenty of spots perfect for a stretch of their legs, and yours! Trentham Gardens pride themselves on being dog-friendly, and with acres of space to discover you’ll both be as excited as one another to explore all that they have to offer. The estate even has shops on site dedicated to your pooch; Doggie Wash is ideal for rinsing off any muddy paws before a journey back in the car, while Doggie Fashions have their own dog bakery – pawfect! If it’s something a little more secluded you’re after, the woodland walk of Dimmingsdale is an idyllic forest spot, or Silverdale Country Park features marked trails through mainly flat land, with lots of wildlife around to observe. Alternatively, the River Trent runs through the heart of the county, so a waterside walk is always a tranquil choice.
The towns of Burton-Upon-Trent and Stoke-on-Trent both have the usual high street shops and restaurant choices, with the scenic views of the river running through them. Hugely popular amusement parks Drayton Manor and Alton Towers are within the county borders, meaning there’s something for big kids of all ages to do. Although your canine companion can’t enter the parks, they’re a perfect activity for any extra adrenaline junkies on holiday.
Discover our range of dog-friendly cottages in the Staffordshire area. You’re bound to find something perfect for the needs of you and your pawsome pooch.
