Fill your days with endless hikes and never-ending games of fetch in the awe-inspiring Derbyshire countryside, straying in this romantic bolthole where pets are as welcome as people. The place sleeps two guests in cosy, homely surroundings, along with two canine companions. The cottage is set on an estate with vast forests, streams and grassland, offering so much outdoor space for your four-pawed pal to get to know during downtime between dog-walking excursions. Enjoying views of the Staffordshire Hills, you can take the load off and get comfortable whilst planning your next excursion, letting Fido contentedly curl up at your feet whilst you get ready for the days ahead. The award winning Denstone Hall Farm Shop is 3 miles down the road, set in the picturesque village of Denstone beside the River Churnet.
Step inside this home-from-home cottage that’s bright, cheerful and spacious. At the centre of the ground floor house is an open-plan living area with a lounge, kitchen and diner, the best place to spend your evenings whilst Rover finds a relaxing spot to get comfy. French doors lead out to the patio space outside, complete with outdoor seating to sit and sip a morning coffee or evening drink. This space is unenclosed, so care should be taken with escape-prone pups. Back indoors, let your loyal doggo follow you to the inviting king-size bedroom, a space to rest those dog-tired bodies after days filled with adventure. This, along with the shower room next door, completes the property.
Grab your pups’ leads and take the gentle stroll along country roads to the village of Ellastone (1 mile). From here you’re welcome to embark on walks along the River Dove, exploring Derbyshire in one direction and Staffordshire in the other, always plotting your route to venture back to the village’s pet-welcoming local pub before last orders. A little further away (4 miles), explore the Peak District National Park.
