Pet-friendly holiday cottages in Portreath

Peruse our pet-friendly Portreath holiday cottages and start planning your Cornish getaway today. Portreath is a fabulous base for a Cornwall break, whether you’re looking for a group holiday with a few pups in tow or a romantic break with your four-legged third wheel in a dog-friendly self-catering holiday cottage. As with any holiday in Cornwall, you’ll want to be close to a beach and here at Portreath, you’ll be blessed with a sandy shoreline (with a bit of shingle) set into a steep valley with high cliffs on one side and a granite wall on the other. Like many other West Cornwall beaches, this stretch of coastline is popular with surfers and is frequented by families too, thanks to the nearby town and its facilities. There is only a dog ban on the beach during July and August so you can let your canine best friend leave his paw prints in the sand during all four seasons.

When bringing your dog to Cornwall, you’ll want plenty to keep you active and occupied when you’re not making the most of your dog-friendly cottage. This part of Cornwall may not be known for its woodland so be sure to take advantage of Tehidy Country Park and its 9 miles of nature trails. St Ives is less than 20 miles away as you head south along the coast; the jewel in Cornwall’s crown is great for a bit of culture or just for wandering the harbour of this pleasant seaside town. Porthtowan is just a few miles north if you’re looking for another well-known beach. It’s larger than Portreath and you can even walk to Chapel Porth Beach at low tide. Take a look at our complete collection of dog-friendly holiday cottages in Portreath above.
