Your Alnwick holiday itinerary

You’ll love a stroll around Alnwick, as well as popping out for some day trips with your favourite family member. While Alnwick Castle doesn’t welcome dogs, we highly recommend opting for a visit to Warkworth Castle where you and your dog can enjoy every part of the site (please keep your dog on a lead).

If your holiday falls on a Thursday or Sunday, another must-visit is Alnwick Gardens. With dedicated dog drinking stations, waste bins, and dog-friendly options at the bakery, it’s a great day out for everybody. However, please note that ducks roam freely, and they ask that you bring a maximum of two dogs; there are a few areas your pup cannot roam.

For book lovers, Barter Books is an absolute must during your holiday in Alnwick. A former Victorian railway station, the converted bookstore offers a peaceful browse through the stacks of books (including 40 cases of antiquarian books), and your pup is welcome too.
