In the heart of historic Alnwick, this lovely Georgian home makes an elegant base for adventures with your four-legged friends. You’ll be within the town’s Conservation Area, just 100 metres from a cosy local pub and within 0.5 miles of independent shops and tearooms. You can pop out to pick up something tasty, browse the second-hand bookshop or wander through the leafy streets with your dogs trotting alongside you. With space for four over its two bedrooms, this stylish home is ideal for couples and small families.

Inside, the house has plenty of character and a bright and welcoming feel. The lounge has sash windows and a wood burner that your pups will no doubt claim as their new favourite nap spot. The kitchen and dining area is great for sociable meals, and from here, you can step through patio doors under an original stone arch. Upstairs, you’ll find two generously sized bedrooms, both with king-size beds and luxurious mattresses, along with a beautiful family bathroom. Outside, the doggies can have a sniff on the enclosed patio while you sit with a cuppa and make plans for tomorrow. There’s one private parking space, plus additional parking nearby.

Nearby, head to Alnmouth (4.5 miles) for sandy beach walks and lively pubs, or pop to Amble (9 miles) for a harbour wander. Craster (7 miles) is a must for sea views and its famous kipper smokehouse, while Bamburgh (17.5 miles) is where to go for dramatic castle backdrops and unforgettable coastal strolls. And when you fancy a classic bucket-and-spade afternoon, Warkworth’s long sandy beach (7.5 miles, dog friendly) is a beautiful spot for excited paws and windy hair.

When we arrived the House was cold and the heating control was set for 9C. We turned it up and went to light the fire to find there were only 4 small logs which would last around an hour. When we came to use the Dishwasher the next day there were only 3 tablets. We highly recommend Earls cottage. We felt comfortable and looked after throughout. Everything about the cottage is perfect. It has a central location in Alnwick, located on a lovely quiet road. The online guidebook is very informative and helped us locate great places to eat and to visit. Our dog Aura loved her welcome basket as we did ours. X

We had a lovely week at Earl's Cottage Alnwick. We found Coquet Cottages helpful, pleasant and easy to deal with. The cottage was located within walking distance of Alnwick which was great as it enabled us to walk down to the town for a morning coffee, wander round the shops or restaurants in the evening without having to take the car. The cottage Read morewas clean, nicely furnished and had everything we needed. We ate out alot and found Alnwick and surrounding areas to be very dog friendly. We visited lots of Castles, Historic Houses and Places of Interest and went inside Bamburgh Castle and Cragside House. The beaches were just outstanding - and we had alot of fun with our dog on different beaches every day. We visited lots of local shops and 2 golf courses for food and golf. My husband thoroughly enjoyed playing the course at Alnmouth. The pride the local population has in their town and surrounding villages was very apparent - all the buildings were beautifully kept and everywhere was very clean. We still have plenty of places to visit and as we so enjoyed our stay, we plan to return. We wish we had known about Alnwick and surrounding areas years ago - our now grown up children would have loved all the area has to offer when they were small ! I would recommend Earl's Cottage - it is a lovely cottage with attentive owners - We were in regular touch with the cottage owner, mainly featuring photos of the adventures of our dog !! Hide
