We had a lovely stay at this property. Everything was very clean and to a high standard and thought gone into things for the dog too. The shower in the en suite unfortunately we couldnt get to stay warm but given there was a shower in the bathroom too so it was not an issue for us. There were a number of items that still had stickers and labels on Read moredue to being new (including the rolling pin!) and it would be nicer for these to be removed. There was plenty of storage for clothes, especially in the double room so the kids were able to also use our wardrobe. The only downside was no real outside space. We didnt go in the courtyard except to let the dog out the back door but it was very tiny and I dont think would give you the outside feel you would want on a nice day. As we went in April it didnt matter to use as weather (although mostly dry) was not for sitting out in. The inside decor was very cool and stylish. The shutters, as lovely as they look, do make every room feel dark (especially with the grey and green decor) even when the sun was shining and blue skies but given its just a holiday home it was fine for a week. Handy location close to the centre of Alnwick (5min walk) so easy to go out for dinner in the evening and also walking distance to the castle. Hide

This is a really lovely cottage. Beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable. Location is pretty good. Parking is a bit tricky in this narrow road but other places nearby. Welcome package was a lovely touch too.

The cottage is very welcoming and really very well equipped. We had excellent weather and we would certainly be very happy to stay there again when we are next in Alnwick. Harness House is on of the best houses weve stayed at. A lot of thought has gone into it and everything is there that youd need. Also thought has gone into allowing pups the stay and not just lip service. We always take rugs but there was no needs. Good location for the town and not far from so many great beaches.

Lovely Georgian town house just a few minutes from the town centre. When viewing property details before booking it didnt state dogs are not permitted to do their toileting in the yard hence hubby up early & out to take our dog for a walk to do her business in the street. A notice in utility room tells you If your dog MUST use the sofa to use the throws provided please. (Not exactly pet friendly wording). As it wRead moreas we took our own clean throws and always do. We have rented lots of dog friendly properties over the years and have never had these issues before on arrival. This spoilt our holiday. BEWARE smaller bedroom door does not open properly as two singles crammed into a room thats far too small for them. Should be a bunk bed or one single. I suffer with hip issues and hurt one trying to squeeze past the door to get in. Yard only has two bistro seats at table so no good if there are 4 people. Water pressure in en-suite shower was an issue. Previously reported by other renters but doesnt seem to of been looked at. These issues aside its a nice property but would only recommended for two people and no dogs. Hide
