Gaze out across the picturesque hills of the Lake District with two of your favourite furry friends when you stay at this two-bedroom cottage at Rosthwaite, 6 miles from Keswick. Sleeping four guests, as well as a pair of dogs, the single-storey property is well situated for anyone keen to get out and about on foot. Watch ears prick up when you head off from your base to go hill hiking or fell walking; follow footpaths and trails in the area taking you along the shores of lakes and through stretches of magical woodland.
Open the front door and make your way along the hall with your pups at your heel. Let them stretch out in the lounge in the heat of the glowing wood burner while you find a film on the Smart TV. As mealtimes approach, head through to the kitchen/diner to feed your hungry hounds and prepare something delicious for the rest of your party. You’ll find there is a Smart TV in here too and a useful washing machine for damp doggy towels. Call everyone to the table when dinner is ready then, at the end of each fun-filled day, head off to either the twin or the double bedroom. You also have a family shower room. On summer mornings, take your four-legged friends for a stroll then relax out in the courtyard garden. There is parking for two cars in a car park 20 metres away.
Venture 7 miles to Buttermere to watch furry ears prick up as you set off on an 8.5-mile walk around Crummock Water. For a longer walk, take one of the paths up to Scale Force waterfall, which is set back from the main route in a gorge. Head 3 miles from the cottage to reach Derwentwater, for more great dog walks.
