Spacious first-floor apartment, one of five within a large Victorian house in a pretty village. Ideal for friends and couples who want to holiday together but have their own space to retreat.
The rugged landscape of the Lake District National Park is romantic and remote for all those adventures you’ll soon be enjoying with the one you love, but there’s no need for your pups to miss out on the fun. Your cosy accommodation welcomes two canine friends with open arms, or should we say paws. Situated in the peaceful hamlet of Rosthwaite, your apartment is set on the first floor of a grand Victorian house next to four other properties.
Accessed via a shared entrance, your abode has an open-plan living space complete with a kitchen and dining space for cosy meals and evening card games. Switch on the TV and let Fido settle by your feet as you watch TV, kept warm and toasty by the electric fire. There is a bathroom with a shower over the bath for hosing down muddy paws, and the bedroom has ample space for a basket. Wake up to the sound of birdsong and prepare a thermos of tea to start your day, venturing downstairs to the shared garden to relax and watch the wildlife.
Rosthwaite is a brilliant vantage point for discovering the mountains and fells of the glorious Borrowdale Valley, placing you close to Derwentwater (4 miles) for water sports and lakeside strolls. Investigate the adjoining woodland in pursuit of rabbits, then head to Keswick to soak up the atmosphere, 6.5 miles away. Home to the renowned Theatre by the Lake, Keswick also has a plethora of eateries, shops and galleries to peruse as well as a popular museum. For the more active-minded guests, rock climbing, gorge scrambling and even wild swimming are all possible close by.
