Head straight out to explore the magnificent scenery of the Lake District, with a pair of happy hounds beside you. This one-bedroom cottage at Rosthwaite, 6 miles from Keswick, sleeps two guests and is in an idyllic location for anyone eager to immerse themselves in the beauty of Borrowdale and to venture out on hill and fell walks. With a shared garden that takes in the spectacular views, this single-storey holiday home makes a perfect, romantic retreat for a couple who want to explore the great outdoors with two of their four-legged friends.
Step straight into the welcoming cottage and on through into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Give your thirsty hounds some water and make yourself a cup of tea then put your feet up. Find a good film on the Smart TV or read your book until it’s time to whip up something tasty for dinner. Feed your furry friends then lay the table for a delicious meal for two. After dinner, take the pups for a stroll before settling them down for the night and heading off for a bath and then to the comfortable double bedroom. On sunny mornings, take breakfast out in the garden, while Fido and Fred potter about close by. You have parking for one car about 25 metres from the cottage, but you can get closer to load and unload.
Set tails wagging with a 4-mile walk from Rosthwaite to enchanting Galleny Force, set within the delightful Fairy Glen, and back. This follows a section of the Cumbria Way and takes you to the beautiful waterfall and a series of pools where furry feet can paddle. Or, venture 3 miles to Lodore Falls at the southern tip of Derwentwater. From here, you can attempt a section of the 10-mile circuit right around the lake if you choose.
