Take to the water to try kayaking, paddleboarding and sailing in beautiful Derwentwater (4 miles), or keep your paws firmly on dry land and enjoy walks around stunning Buttermere (6 miles). Armed with lots of local delicacies, return to relax over delicious meals and slip a few tasty treats to Fido.

Situated on the first floor of an impressive Victorian property, your accommodation is reached via a shared entrance. Scamper into the open-plan living space and prepare for a chilled evening watching TV and unwinding over a tasty supper around the table. The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up simple suppers and hearty dinners, and afterwards, the electric fire will keep you toasty whilst you play card games. There are two bedrooms to choose from, both served by the bathroom. Outside, the shared garden has seating and excellent views.

Charming Rosthwaite boasts a friendly pub, shop and tearooms for you to enjoy, and you’ll have a plethora of trails leading directly from your doorstep. Let your pup take the lead and investigate the shores of Derwentwater, sniffing through the adjoining woodland and spotting wildlife. Keswick is a bustling town with lots to entertain your entire party including an iconic theatre, museum and lots of shops and eateries, 6.5 miles away. Delve further and scale the mountain summits, try rock climbing and gorge scrambling. Or, if the mood takes you, join Rover in a spot of wild swimming.

• There are alternative routes to Rosthwaite available from Braithwaite or from Grange. From these two start points, route to Buttermere via the Newlands pass. Once in Buttermere, take the B5289 to Rosthwaite via the Honister pass.

• Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
• 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
• There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.
