Holidays in Broadway
Dog-friendly holidays in Broadway
Known by some as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’, Broadway has quite a reputation to uphold, and it does so effortlessly – with its understated honey coloured stone cottages, period houses and photogenic views around every corner. Our dog-friendly cottages in Broadway are perfectly situated to explore the town's many charms. The horse chestnut trees lining Broadway's High Street offer dappled shade to shoppers and create the perfect atmosphere for an alfresco drink or snack. Many of the cafes and pubs are dog-friendly, making it a relaxing place to stroll and enjoy the finer things in life!
Halfway up the high street is the Children’s Activity Park, which is a must for families who have little ones who are full of energy! While dogs are not allowed in the park itself, there are plenty of grassy areas outside to exercise your pooch.
Broadway is drenched in history, some of which should definitely be soaked up on your visit. The Lygon Arms Hotel on the High Street hosted Oliver Cromwell for a night during the Civil War, while many other interesting faces have passed through, including William Morris, John Singer Sargent, J.M. Barrie and Mary Anderson.
There are many dog-friendly things to do near Broadway, not least exploring the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. The village lies on The Cotswolds Way which runs from Chipping Campden to Bath, and another pleasant stroll can be had at nearby National Trust’s Snowshill (3.1 miles – dogs are only allowed on the circular public footpath walk). A little further afield are some of Cotswold’s other gems, including Stow-on-the-Wold (11.5 miles), Upper Slaughter (13.6 miles) and Bourton-on-the-Water (12.6 miles) as well as the beautiful spa town of Cheltenham (20 miles) and bustling city of Gloucester (26 miles). See our dog-friendly guide to the Cotswolds for more of our favourite pet-friendly places.
