A compact and cosy cottage with all that you need. Wood burner easy to operate. As other reviews have said, your dog needs to be supervised or on a lead in the outdoor space because it is not fully enclosed. Good dog walks (including to the well stocked village shop and bus stop) from the cottage. Frequent buses into the centre of Gloucester with iRead moret's Quays area and cathedral. Hide

The Old Barn is a cosy and comfortable cottage in a lovely setting. It is well suited to a couple, and we and our dog were made to feel very welcome. Dog owners should be aware that the courtyard are is not fully enclosed and your pet will need to be supervised to avoid getting into the car-parking area and potentially into the road.

Nice cosy cottage, as stated though it is small but this is not a problem when there is only two people. We found on our stay that the cottage was cold in the evening, after 9pm as the heating goes off at 8:30pm, there is a log burner but we were only returning to the property after 7:30pm and it was not really worth trying to light the fire. TRead morehe kitchen is very small but adequate, any problems are made better by the beautiful location. The property is very clean but obviously you do get the smell of the log burner which is a bit over powering at first but you do get used to it and also your clothes etc do not smell of the fire. U would use this property again. Hide

Really enjoyed our week at Old barn. Nicely situated with trails to follow from the door but do your homework (we didn't) Plenty big enough as a base for days out and decent bathroom and bedroom. Recommend the farm shop on High St, Gloucester cathedral and Quays, Painswick, Bourton on the water, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Stroud farmers market, CooperRead mores Hill, Cotswolds way close by, Clarkson's Diddly Squat farm shop + Farmers dog pub are worthwhile and only an hr away. The cottage is indeed very small, but extremely cosy, and very well equipped for 2. The bedding and towels are very good quality. It is a very beautiful spot, but be aware that the village is quite sprawling - there is a shop and a pub, but both are a short drive. The pub would be approx 25 mins walk and is on the main road. The shop is 11 mins driRead moreve. The farm shop is great and only 5 mins walk. but is strictly foodstuff - excellent quality but inevitably pricey. Hide

Great cosy little base for our short stay. If you are staying in the winter months though I would recommend taking lots of kiln dried wood for the log burner. The open aspect of the main room stairs and landing being in one takes some heating. But once you get warm it is very snug and cosy.
