  • Set in a peaceful rural location with a wealth of walks to explore from the front door
Property code: OC-57684

Peacefully tucked away, this stylish barn is the perfect base for couples looking to escape to the Cotswolds. With two pups welcome too, make the most of the beautiful grounds, the surrounding fields and countryside with hours of walkies, fetch and tongue-lolling dashes amongst green fields.

Return after a busy day, to this beautiful barn offering accommodation over one level, so your canine chum can keep an eye on their pack. Renovated with a contemporary twist on the traditional, exposed beams and traditional honey coloured stone gives way to a unique and cosy style. Leave your walking boots and dust away mucky paws as you step into the light and airy open-plan living space. Open the doors to the patio letting in the fresh air and allowing your happy hound to potter in and out as he pleases. In warm weather dine alfresco with delightful views as your pup scampers safely about the enclosed garden. As the evening approaches cuddle on the sofa as your furry friend dozes on his favourite blanket, and welcome in the morning with a coffee on the patio as your pup scatters the dew with a roll in grass.

The village of Kemble offers a local shop and pub. Follow the Thames Path from Kemble Station to find the river’s source (2 miles), follow trails in the ancient coppiced woodland of Siccaridge Wood (6.5 miles) and on-lead walks at Whelford Pool Nature Reserve (16 miles) with bird hides to watch the wildlife. Gambol amongst rolling hills and open spaces above the Stroud Valleys and Severn estuary at Minchinhampton Common (12 miles) and Rodborough Common (13.5 miles), and visit Newark Park (17.5 miles), a beautiful estate with splendid views of the Cotswold countryside.

The cottage is in a very quiet location, is south facing and the garden is completely enclosed. Outside the private estate road meant you could walk the dog and not get muddy. Warm and plenty of hot water, bed is firm.

Overall a nice cottage, very warm with good shower and hot water. More cramped than it looks, so with 2 dogs not ideal. Lovely setting surrounded by fields with horses and good local walks for pooches. Wi-Fi pretty poor and the electric cooker is the cheapest imaginable and awful, not what youd expect in this standard of accommodation at this priceRead more. Dishwasher rusty and only seemed to work on economy setting. Overall 4* but could be 5 if they sorted these things out. Hide
