Port Gaverne, 500 metres in the other direction, has a sheltered beach scattered with rock pools and scenic clifftop paths – excellent for strolls with your pet. At Rock (8.5 miles), hop on the ferry across to Padstow (12 miles), a favourite spot for anyone who enjoys great food. In the other direction, you can follow the coast path along to Tintagel (9 miles), famed for its legends of King Arthur and its striking coastal scenery. Polzeath (7 miles), is also a fab option, with its Greenaway Beach doggie friendly all year round.
