With sweeping sea views and two dog-friendly beaches within 500 metres, this welcoming apartment is a wonderful spot for a family holiday with the dogs. It’s located within an elegant Edwardian townhouse and part of an exclusive collection of properties right between Port Isaac and Port Gaverne. It’s so easy to wander down for seaside strolls or a bite to eat. Port Isaac’s famous harbour and narrow lanes are instantly recognisable from television – the popular show Doc Martin was filmed here – while nearby Port Gaverne has a quieter but equally picturesque beach.
Inside, the apartment feels bright and stylish, with wooden floors and uninterrupted sea views adding to the sense of space. The open-plan living area is wonderful for relaxing with your pups, featuring a comfortable lounge with a corner sofa, Smart TV and French doors leading outside. Share meals at the dining table and perch with drinks and snacks at the island unit. The kitchen has everything you need for easy self-catering during your stay. When it’s time to head to bed, choose from two peaceful bedrooms – a double with a Smart TV and en-suite shower room, and a second with twin zip-and-link beds (can be arranged as a king-size on request). A family bathroom completes the layout. In sunny weather, step through the French doors onto the patio garden, bordered by lawn and furnished with bench-style seating around a table – a lovely place to dine outdoors with views towards Tintagel and plenty of fresh sea air for wagging tails. There’s one parking space to the rear of the property, along with a handy beach hut-style store for your surfboards, outdoor gear and doggie balls.Nearby, take your pet along the coast path for spectacular walks in both directions. From Rock (8.5 miles) you can take the ferry to Padstow (12 miles), a popular destination for food lovers. In the opposite direction, a challenging 9-mile hike leads to Tintagel, a place steeped in Arthurian legend and dramatic scenery. If your pup enjoys watching the waves, head to the popular surfing beach at Polzeath (7 miles).
