This Highland retreat for two humans and two hounds enjoys a peaceful setting on the Easter Ross Peninsula, 3.5 miles from Alness. The surrounding area is a haven for dog walkers, and you’ll also be within easy reach of the spectacular NC500 driving route. After a day of adventure with the pups, sink into your bubbling hot tub under the stars.
The chic cabin features a beautiful arched ceiling and is decorated and furnished in a contemporary style. Along one wall is a sleek kitchenette for rustling up breakfasts and light bites, which you can share at the breakfast bar or outside on the terrace. In the evenings, get cosy on the corner sofa to read your book or watch a movie on the Smart TV. On a summer’s day, open up the French doors to let the outside in and allow the hounds to potter in and out. To the rear of the lodge is an inviting double bedroom and a refreshing shower room. Outside, sip a sundowner on the terrace or soak aching limbs in the bubbling hot tub. This area is fully enclosed for your canine pals. Guests are also welcome to use the shared on-site BBQ house. Private parking is available for one car.
Tain (11.5 miles), the oldest Royal burgh in Scotland, makes a lovely day out. Take a stroll around the town, admiring the fascinating architecture, before refuelling in a traditional Highland pub. Alternatively, journey to the historic coastal town of Dornoch (20.5 miles), where you’ll find a wide, sandy beach backed by dunes that welcomes woofers all year. There’s a lovely walk from the beach to Dornoch Point, where the views are fantastic.
