This couples’ retreat enjoys a rural setting in the Scottish Highlands, 3.5 miles from the historic town of Alness. The luxurious, pet-friendly holiday lodge is on the Easter Ross Peninsula – a haven for keen walkers – and is also close to the popular NC500 driving route. After a day of adventure with your pup pals, sink into your private hot tub under the stars.
The contemporary cabin is reached via a small flight of steps from the enclosed patio garden. Inside, the bright and inviting lounge/kitchen is equipped with everything needed to rustle up a delicious dinner for two. In the evenings, get cosy by the flame-effect fire, with the hounds curled at your feet, to read your book or watch the Smart TV. The separate, wood-panelled double bedroom offers a tranquil space for a good night’s sleep, and a stylish shower room rounds off the accommodation. Outside, sip a sundowner on the decked terrace, revive weary legs in the bubbling hot tub, or share an al fresco dinner at the picnic table. The outside space is fully enclosed for waggy-tailed guests. You’ll also have access to a shared BBQ hut. The holiday home has private parking for one car.
Journey into Alness to explore the town’s independent shops and eateries, before taking a stroll along the banks of the River Averon or embarking on an exhilarating hike to Fyrish Monument. The ancient town of Tain (11.5 miles) – the oldest Royal burgh in Scotland – also makes a fascinating day out, with its stunning architecture, listed buildings, and cosy pubs. For a day at the seaside, head to the woof-friendly beaches of Dornoch (20.5 miles) or Shandwick Bay (13 miles).
