Set on a 60-acre rural estate, with a 20-acre dog-walking field on site, this welcoming lodge is an ideal countryside escape for families and their four-legged friends. You’ll be perched on the edge of the North York Moors and surrounded by stunning walking routes through both coast and countryside. The market town of Pickering and the picturesque village of Thornton-le-Dale are both around 1 mile away, filled with interesting shops, pubs and dog-friendly cafes to explore with your pups.
This attractive timber-clad lodge has a cosy and rustic feel from the moment you step into the handy boot room – which is perfect for wiping off muddy paws after woodland adventures. The inviting lounge area has plush seating, a pebble-effect electric fire and a Smart TV for film nights while your pups sleep off their adventures. The spacious kitchen and dining area are great for sociable mealtimes, and upstairs, you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms: a king-size room and a twin. Both have TVs, and the twin has a PlayStation 4, ideal for younger guests. The family bathroom completes the upper floor and includes robes and slippers for extra comfort. Outside, dogs will love sniffing around the private decking area while you fire up the charcoal BBQ or unwind in the covered hot tub. There’s also a dedicated on-site dog exercise field, a shared play area for children and private parking for one car.
There are plenty of options for days out nearby, whether you fancy a day out at Flamingo Land (5 miles, dogs on leads welcome) or a nostalgic steam train ride from Pickering to Whitby (21 miles by car). The coastal resorts of Scarborough and Filey (within 20.5 miles) have fantastic beaches where dogs can tear about while you breathe in all that fresh salty air.
