Near to the North York Moors and Heritage Coast, it offers a 20-acre field where pets can let off steam, while the rest of the party can unwind with Smart TVs, PlayStation games and a private hot tub. This high-end holiday home prioritises together-time, its open-plan living space featuring sofas arranged before a Smart TV while huge windows and modern lighting complement the wood cladding. The kitchen/diner has both a dining suite and a separate breakfast bar for less formal snacks and refreshments. When it’s time to sleep there’s plenty of space to spread out the dogs’ beds before heading off to your own quarters. A king-size bed and en-suite shower room await in the master suite, while a twin bedroom and a children’s bunk bedroom ensure sleeping options for all. There’s a Smart TV in each bedroom and, adding a new level of luxury, a PlayStation4, games and extra controllers are available. A family bathroom completes the internal layout, while outdoors the enclosed decked area offers further leisure options – fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco, or lay back in the private hot tub and unwind beneath the night sky. Dogs can enjoy their own down-time in a designated 20-acre field shared with the other holiday homes on-site.
Stroll 1.5 miles into Thornton Dale – one of the National Park’s most picturesque villages – for an excellent array of traditional shops, inns and eateries. There’s plenty more to whet the appetite in Pickering, which is also the starting point for the North York Moors Railway – well-behaved dogs are welcome! At Grosmont station connect to the Esk Valley Line for an effortless journey onwards to Whitby (21 miles). Alternatively head to Castle Howard (17 miles), one of Britain’s finest stately homes with vast grounds for waggy-tailed walks.
