This two-bedroom, two-bathroom lodge has a private hot tub plus use of a 20-acre dog field where your pups can let off steam. For the full experience of local life there’s a farm shop nearby, while market town Pickering is less than 2 miles.
Everyone gets a share of the fun at this private estate on the southern fringe of the National Park. Your open-plan social space combines a lounge, dining area and modern kitchen, each well-lit thanks to large windows on three sides. There’s plenty of room for the dogs to stretch out at your feet as you settle on a choice of soft seating before the Smart TV; a PlayStation4 increases the entertainment options. Close-by, the kitchen/diner is chic with bar-style seating at an island unit, while the adjacent dining suite makes a more formal mealtime setting. Once the dogs are dreaming you have the choice of two blissful bedrooms, each with its own TV. The spacious king-size comes with an en-suite bathroom, while a modern shower room is conveniently positioned for the second bedroom, a twin. Your living space extends onto an enclosed decked area which is equipped with outdoor furniture, a charcoal BBQ, and a luxury hot tub. The dogs can enjoy their own down-time in a designated 20-acre field shared with the other holiday homes on-site.
Stroll 1.5 miles into Thornton Dale – one of the National Park’s most picturesque villages – for a fine choice of shops, inns and eateries or find plenty more to whet the appetite just a little further away in Pickering, which is also the starting point for the pet-friendly North York Moors Railway. At Grosmont you can connect to the Esk Valley Line for an effortless day trip to Whitby (21 miles). Alternatively, visit the Edwardian resort of Filey (21 miles) and lively Scarborough (17 miles), or head to Castle Howard (17 miles), one of Britain’s finest stately homes with huge grounds for waggy-tailed walks.
