After long walks, there’s a handy boot room for brushing off muddy paws before settling into the lounge for a peaceful evening by the pebble-effect fire. Longer walks await in Dalby Forest (4.5 miles), a paradise of trails and woodland scents. Dogs are also welcome at Flamingo Land (5 miles). The seaside towns of Filey and Scarborough are also both within 20.5 miles – you can take the dogs on the dog-friendly beaches before tucking into traditional fish and chip suppers.
