A lovely shepherd’s hut situated in the Peak District, ideal for a romantic getaway with your loved one and your two dogs. Sniff out adventures through the stunning surrounding countryside and picturesque villages before soaking away in your very own private, wood-fired hot tub (charges apply) in the enclosed garden.

This compact home has been thoughtfully designed to contain everything you need for your self-catering stay. Fire up the warming wood burner to keep your dogs’ paws toasty as you curl up on the comfortable sofa and reflect on the day’s events. A handy TV is also provided. The practical kitchenette has a microwave and a hob so you can rustle up meals and prepare picnics for your days out. To the other end of the hut is a lovely bedroom with a double bed, and adjacent, an en-suite shower room with a WC. Outside, you will have your own walled private garden containing a fabulous wood-fired hot tub (charges apply). Soak away underneath the stars as your dogs are safe in this enclosed and secluded space.

Situated in the pretty village of Foolow, you will find some little cafes and a dog-friendly pub within 0.5 miles. The historic Plague Village of Eyam is 2 miles away, where you can find further amenities and plenty of opportunities to find out all about the area’s history. Set tails wagging along the Monsal Trail (6.5 miles), a long-distance walking and cycling route that follows a disused railway line that passes through the Peak District over viaducts and through tunnels. If you are feeling a little energetic, climb Sir William Hill Trig Point (2.5 miles) for stunning views.

We recently stayed in this shepherds hut for 3 nights, paying over 500, and unfortunately the experience didnt match expectations. We specifically searched for dog-friendly accommodation with a hot tub included. On arrival, we were told the owner wasnt aware we intended to use the hot tub, which was confusing given this was a key reason for bookingRead more. To their credit, they did allow us to use it during our stay. However, the setting was disappointing. There were no scenic views as advertised or impliedjust a brick wall on one side and a fence on the otherso it felt quite enclosed and lacked privacy. There were also some maintenance issues. The hob wasnt working, which made cooking difficult, though we chose not to complain during the stay. After returning home, we were surprised to receive an email requesting additional payment for use of the hot tub. This was never clearly communicated beforehand and feels unreasonable given the circumstances. Overall, while we made the best of our stay, the experience didnt justify the price paid, and clearer communication and honesty in the listing would have made a big difference. Hide

Digby's Hut is a wonderful, peaceful retreat which was an absolute joy to stay in. Impeccably decorated and maintained, it was a perfect getaway for 2 people who wanted to relax and get away from the real world. The wood fired hot tub is an absolute gem. We may need to return every year!
