The Potting Shed was a cosy little place to stay in a lovely part of the world. I loved the fact that the crockery in the property was all made by the cottage owner, who runs a pottery on site. The view from The Potting Shed is beautiful and we did some good walks straight from the door. We really enjoyed eating at The Packhorse Pub, which is very Read morefriendly, does excellent home-cooked food and was a mere five-minute walk away. Hide

Quite a bit smaller than we imagined and we had to be very organised with our belongings in order to be comfortable for the week. That said the backdrop and garden were a delight many birds visited and the view just stunning at the front of the property. The local pub was just delightful, with amazing food. Visiting in the winter was a little problRead moreematic as despite there being a dehumidifier in situ the condensation was constant, especially in the little shower room where the wall behind the toilet was soaking wet and peeling .The underfloor heating was a lovely bonus and the bed extremely comfortable. I would recommend the Potting Shed for a short stay Hide

Small but perfectly formed, ideal romantic getaway! The scenery was amazing! We had to cancel some of our stay due to snow but was fine- can't be helped! Cottage had everything we needed for our stay, warm and cosy on return from our outings. Would recommend.

Ideally located property for Peak District exploration. Lovely outdoor space for sitting out of an evening and relaxing with great views. The Potting Shed as its name suggests is compact but has everything you need for a break. I would say short breaks 3-5 days are ideal. I went for 7 nights but found this a bit too long for a small property, even Read morethough my own home is small too. The property is very presentable and the underfloor heating is nice and needed as it does get a bit chilly at night. I would stay again and felt the pricing was good value. Hide

We knew the place would be small, so that was not an issue at all. It was big enough and had all we needed, with beauty on the doorstep and a great pub a few steps away. Such a reasonable price it felt fine to eat out the whole week! As anywhere, a lot depends on the weather and if it is ok, then this is an ideal base for a couple with a small dog.Read more Mike and Heidi are lovely too, helpful and yet happy to leave you to enjoy your privacy. On the whole very pleased with the booking process although it is quite confusing as we originally booked via the Dog Friendly Cottages website (part of Snaptrip!), Then on our confirmation email we were advised that The Potting Shed property is managed by Derbyshire Country Cottages however we were then advised in the same email of the contact detRead moreails for calling the property managers, in this case Original Cottages. Just a tad confusing, eh! As for The Potting Shed itself; we were extremely delighted with our stay there. Although the building is slightly smaller than our bedroom in Dumfries, the owners have demonstrated how much you can cram into a relatively small space. Bed, table, chairs, well equipped small kitchen, shower room with toilet, TV, Wi-Fi, and best of all a large, secluded, enclosed garden for the dog to play in and for us to eat out in. Hide
