Explore Lochinver with your dog from our dog-friendly accommodation

Set within a sheltered bay on the banks of Loch Inver, this small Highland fishing port is a tail-wagging choice for a dog-friendly holiday in Scotland. Choose one of our dog-friendly cottages in Lochinver and your pack can look forward to walkies through some of the wildest and beautiful landscapes in the country.

Step out of your dog-friendly Lochinver accommodation and let Fido lead the way as you sniff out some of the best local beauty spots, including Achmelvich Bay with its crystal-clear turquoise waters and soft white sands (seasonal dog restrictions apply). Energetic pups are sure to love a scamper around the famous mountain, Stac Pollaidh, and one of Scotland’s most northerly Munros, Ben More Assynt, which are both huge draws for hillwalkers and climbers. After all that climbing, our dog-friendly cottages offer a comfortable place in Lochinver for some much-needed rest.

There are also several lochs and rivers to explore near our pet-friendly self-catering in Lochinver, such as Loch Roe which is home to large colonies of seals. With around 200 or so lochans, this is a very popular fishing area, with significant numbers of wild brown trout and salmon on offer – you can try some for yourself at the village’s bustling fish market or in one of the local restaurants. And don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for golden eagles, sea eagles, dolphins and whales during your adventures. Our dog-friendly guide to Scotland has even more incredible adventures for you and your furry friend to embark on too.
