Escape to pure tranquillity at this lovely Highland home, standing right on the shores of Loch Assynt, with the mighty mountain range of Quinag towering above. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, it's ideal for families or groups of friends who are searching for a home with a private beach to call home. Spend happy mornings walking straight out of the garden onto the loch shore – your pups are sure to approve. In the afternoon, set off for walkies up into the hills as you soak up views of the water glittering below. Alternatively, make your way into the quaint village of Lochinver for a bite to eat and a wander round the harbour. In the evening, come home to dine alfresco on the decking while your pups enjoy the freedom to roam on the enclosed lawn.
Pull into your private parking spot (there’s room for four cars) and kick off your muddy boots in your Highland hideaway’s spacious hallway. This is a home built for coming back to: it’s generous, unfussy and warm, with a wood burner that’s waiting to warm your toes. Head through to the lounge/diner, a sociable room with seating for all six of you to eat, chat and relax after a day on the hills, while you soak up the incredible loch views through the windows. A separate lounge offers further seating and a Smart TV, as well as a handy desk if you need to catch up on a little work. The bright kitchen gives the chef of your group plenty of room to spread out. Outside, the enclosed garden runs right down to your private shingle beach, and there’s a furnished deck for dining alfresco and a lawn to keep your pups happy. As the night rolls in, you have three bedrooms to choose from – two elegant doubles that share a smart family bathroom with a bath and shower, and a chic king-size with its own elegant en-suite shower room. In the morning, grab a cuppa and throw open the curtains to take in the spectacular views of the loch and the mountains beyond.
See tails wag when your pups realise there’s a private beach at the bottom of your garden. Or set off for walkies to the atmospheric ruins of Ardvreck Castle (2 miles), where you’ll find a 16th-century tower sitting on own promontory overlooking the water. Further afield, Achmelvich Bay (9 miles) and the cascading Allt Chranaidh Waterfall (10 miles) are both well worth the drive.
