Pet-friendly holiday accommodation in Instow
Instow is a popular North Devon village found at the confluence of the Rivers Torridge and Taw. Its long dog-friendly beach is well-loved and appreciated by local and visiting dog-fanciers. It’s not uncommon to see dogs at play, tearing up and down the beach at the shore. The southern end of Instow beach is restricted but it’s small in comparison to the area in which dogs are allowed to live it up. The strong currents mean that swimming and paddling are discouraged at Instow but there’s still plenty to do like sunbathing and playing on the dunes. There’s a pleasant walk along the beach or you can join the Tarka Trail as it weaves its way through the village. Instow is home to some great pubs and restaurants, and there’s even a lovely delicatessen/cafe called John’s.
Instow is 3 miles north of Bideford and a short ferry ride (seasonal) across the Torridge to Appledore where you can find even more cool amenities. In the wider area, you're well-placed to explore dog-friendly Devon - your dog will love Northam Burrows Country Park and Westward Ho! beach with its 3 mile stretch of sand at low tide. Follow the South-West Coast Path as it meanders through the gorgeous countryside past Bucks Mills, Clovelly, Hartland Lighthouse and beyond. It’s a fantastic walk for those that love woodlands and unspoiled ocean views. We have a superb collection of holiday homes in and around Instow. If you are looking for a quiet romantic break or a well-earned family break in this beautiful corner of Devon, we have the perfect dog-friendly accommodation for you, and an even wider choice of pet-friendly cottages across Devon, too.
