Explore Aberdovey with your dog from our dog-friendly accommodation

Aberdovey, or Aberdyfi as it is known in Welsh, is an enchanting little harbour town on the coastal edge of Snowdonia National Park, and the perfect destination for your next dog-friendly holiday to Wales. The River Dyfi flows into Cardigan Bay here, and the waters provide a playground for water sports enthusiasts, with sailing, rowing, kayaking and fishing just some of the activities on offer here.

When it comes to adventures with your pooch, there’s plenty on offer lying within easy reach of our Aberdovey pet-friendly accommodation. The beach at Aberdovey is dog-friendly all-year-round, with the only restriction being in front of the car park during peak season. The backdrop of the Snowdonia National Park makes the coastline here a spectacular place for a dog walk, and venturing into the surrounding mountains offers yet more awe-inspiring scenery.

Aberdovey’s train station links the town with other destinations along the coast, as well as inland and to England. A jaunt along the North Wales coast could be just the ticket for a dog-friendly day out with a pooch who enjoys exploring as much as you do. There are also numerous dog-friendly attractions close to our dog-friendly cottages in Aberdovey to check out, including Talyllyn Railway (4 miles), Bird Rock (9 miles – home to an astonishing number of breeding cormorants and the increasingly elusive chough) and Tal-y-Llyn Lake (13.5 miles).

For adventurous pooches and active owners, a climb up Cader Idris (16 miles) will reward your efforts with breathtaking views.

With so much to see out and about, a comfortable base is a must, and our Aberdovey holiday cottages that are pet friendly provide just that. Some dog-friendly cottages welcome more than one dog, so nobody in the family needs to be left behind. Features such as enclosed gardens make holidaying with your pet stress free, and with so many dog-friendly things to do close by, you’re sure to have a memorable time - see our dog-friendly guide to North Wales for some doggy-approved advice. Be sure to also browse our range of dog-friendly cottages in West Wales for more places to stay in the surrounding area.
