This coastal bolthole for couples and small families is in the village of Aberdovey, at the southern end of Snowdonia National Park. The village has a vast, paw-friendly beach offering miles of dog-walking opportunities, as well as a whole host of water sports. After a long walk with the hounds, sip a sundowner on the terrace whilst admiring the views towards Cardigan Bay.

The former fisherman’s cottage is full of character, and is decorated in a cute, coastal theme. The ground floor is bright and open plan, comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner with a gorgeous slate floor. Unwind here after a day at the beach, dining together at the stylish glass table or reclining on the sumptuous sofa with the hounds curled at your feet. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor and a twin bedroom with sea views. A further flight of steep, cottage-style stairs (with no handrail) leads to the second floor, where you’ll find a double bedroom with a quirky porthole-style window. A stylish bathroom completes this floor. To the front of the property is a sunny terrace for al fresco dining and to the rear, via external steps, is a beautiful, decked dining area with stunning views across the estuary. This area is fully enclosed for your four-pawed pals.

Aberdovey is a charming seaside resort, with a sandy beach that welcomes waggy-tailed visitors all year. The village is a hub for water sports enthusiasts, and you can try windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding, and canoeing during your stay. Keen walkers and adventurous pups will be in their element, with the Roman Road coastal path passing nearby, and the exhilarating tracks and trails of Snowdonia National Park within 10 miles. From Aberdovey, enjoy a day trip to the bustling market town of Machynlleth (10 miles).

Our fourth stay in this cottage. A perfect location for us near the station and a chance to leave the car at home. Aberdyfi has plenty of places to eat and drink and lots of lovely walks although suitable footwear is definitely needed.

Lovely location. Cottage is quirky and the views are amazing. The cottage is in need of some updating and a really good clean as we had a few issues with the cleanliness of the cottage. If these are improved it's a great place to stay and convenient for the village.

Lovely views and location, though on a bend on fast road with no pavement so a bit dodgy with kids / dogs. We found it a bit small for family of 4 plus 1 dog. Very quirky cottage and overall, well equipped. We nearly lost the key as it fell out of my pocket, when I phoned the contact number, the lady was very helpful (though thankfully, we found thRead moree key when re-traced our steps!). Aberdovey is beautiful and there are some great dog walks. Coast restaurant was very tasty for tapas style Hide

What a lovely cottage, had everything we needed for a comfortable relaxing break. We didn't benefit too much from the decking after the first day and a half as it rained constantly but the views from the cottage were lovely even in the rain. The village was nice and quiet so if you want hustle and bustle and arcades, I don't think this village is fRead moreor you but if you want a quiet break I'm sure you will love it. There are a couple of local pubs within walking distance that served lovely food. Hide
