This traditional-style canvas yurt feels light and airy with a homely, slightly bohemian vibe providing a unique indoors-outdoors glamping experience. Up three small steps to the wooden veranda, you’ll enter the regular height doors to the yurt. Inside it’s kitted out with a comfortable double bed, dining furniture and a wood burner to keep things cosy whatever the weather. To the side of this circular retreat, there’s a covered kitchen area with a bathroom to the rear off the veranda. You even have dining furniture in front of the yurt near a fire pit. There’s plenty of scope for spending time together – or apart – and options for those essential holiday snoozes!
Once you and your hound have explored the woods and watery wonder of the site itself, Holt Country Park (1 mile) has 100 acres of mixed woodland. There’s a small charge for parking, but that allows you to stay all day. Mooch with your pooch around chic Holt, a market town renowned for its lovely buildings and indie boutique shopping. The North Norfolk Railway – or Poppy Line – runs steam and diesel trains from here to seaside Sheringham (8.5 miles) through stunning countryside. Two NT properties welcome dogs in their stunning and varied parklands (sadly not the houses): Blickling Hall, famed for its Boleyn connections (9 miles); and Felbrigg Hall (10 miles). Spot seals from Blakeney (7 miles) at certain times of the year.
