Rest and recharge at this idyllic retreat within the grounds of a fabulous estate in Dartmoor National Park. The property welcomes six humans and three hounds and suits both families and friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You''ll have access to a whole host of on-site facilities, as well as stunning walks to explore with the woofers throughout the grounds. Nearby days out include the cathedral city of Exeter (17 miles) and the seaside resort of Teignmouth (20 miles).
The luxurious holiday home is decorated in calming, neutral tones and features striking exposed stonework and wooden beams. At the heart of the home is a vast lounge/kitchen/diner with a double-height ceiling and ample space for you and the pups to spread out and relax. The farmhouse-style kitchen has everything needed for a self-catering holiday and there is a large dining table to seat everyone. After dinner, unwind in the impressive lounge area, where an array of comfortable seating is set around a Smart TV. Also on this floor is a super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Heading upstairs, a hallway overlooking the lounge area leads to an elegant king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. From the hallway, you can also access a large balcony with views across the estate. Completing this level is a handy utility area. The final bedroom is upstairs and is a stylish super-king-size room with an en-suite bathroom. Outside, to the rear of the property is a dining area with furniture - the perfect spot for al fresco entertaining on a summer''s evening. You''ll also find a decked area with a BBQ (charges apply) at the front of the lodge, allowing you to follow the sun throughout the day.
There are some excellent walking routes nearby to explore with your furry sidekicks, such as shady woodland paths at Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park (4.5 miles) and picturesque waterside tracks and trails at Burrator Reservoir (18 miles). Another popular spot is Canonteign Falls (10 miles), with its pretty picnic spots next to the water. Nearby woof-friendly attractions include the South Devon Railway (15 miles) and Castle Drogo (6 miles).
On occasion the hotel has private functions in it’s lounges, bar and restaurants that may affect their availability to our lodge guests.
For Guests booking over the Christmas & New Year period:
- Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are not available in the hotel from the afternoon of 24th until after breakfast on 27th December and again from the afternoon of 31st December until after breakfast on 2nd January.
- A pre-booked Christmas day lunch can be ordered to your lodge along with a restricted pre-booked lodge menu for the evenings of 24th, 26th, 31st December and 1st January.
- The main hotel bar and lounges are reserved exclusively for our hotel package guests on these days between noon and 8pm, but Smith’s Brasserie is open for drinks
- Prior to 24th December, 27th – 30th December and after 2nd January normal restaurant & bar opening times operate.
