Nearby days out include the cathedral city of Exeter (17 miles) and the seaside resort of Teignmouth (20 miles).

The luxurious holiday home is decorated in calming, neutral tones and features striking exposed stonework and wooden beams. After dinner, unwind in the impressive lounge area, where an array of comfortable seating is set around a Smart TV. Also on this floor is a super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Heading upstairs, a hallway overlooking the lounge area leads to an elegant king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. From the hallway, you can also access a large balcony with views across the estate. Completing this level is a handy utility area. The final bedroom is upstairs and is a stylish super-king-size room with an en-suite bathroom. Outside, to the rear of the property is a dining area with furniture - the perfect spot for al fresco entertaining on a summer''s evening. You''ll also find a decked area with a BBQ (charges apply) at the front of the lodge, allowing you to follow the sun throughout the day.

There are some excellent walking routes nearby to explore with your furry sidekicks, such as shady woodland paths at Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park (4.5 miles) and picturesque waterside tracks and trails at Burrator Reservoir (18 miles). Another popular spot is Canonteign Falls (10 miles), with its pretty picnic spots next to the water. Lovey weeks stay here with our two dogs. Lots of space and the grounds were lovely and well managed. Dog owners, no secure garden so need to be kept on a lead if no 100% recall, there are lots of bunnies and squirrels (and watch out for ticks). It was lovely having the hotel facilities to hand and we would come back again out of season (too manyRead more loose dogs and children for my liking). Hide

Very well stocked self catering lodge and great size. Swimming pool a great size for exercise and leisure. Lovely spot for walks straight from the hotel. Main problem is that if you dont book directly with the hotel, they charge to clean the lodge during the week. No cleaning equipment is provided so its either cope with the mess of your childrRead moreen and dogs, or pay for the cleaning service. Hide

We had a lovely multi-generational stay in a lodge at Bovey Castle. The lodges offer lovely spacious accommodation in a beautiful setting. The bedrooms are large and all are ensuite. The hotel and lodges are dog friendly, the main reason we picked this location. It's great having access to the hotel facilities and morning coffee on the hotel terracRead moree was perfect. We either cooked meals in the lodge, ate out in the nearby villages or Smiths Brassiere. We had great weather ( always a bonus) and I would definitely stay here again. Hide
