The luxurious lodge is nestled in the grounds of a stunning estate within Dartmoor National Park. The property sleeps six guests and three hounds and is the perfect base for families and friends looking for a memorable getaway in breathtaking surroundings. You''ll find numerous walks to explore with your furry friends throughout the estate, and on-site facilities include an indoor swimming pool, a spa, tennis courts, a gym, championship 18-hole golf course, driving range and children''s play equipment. Further afield, enjoy doggy days out to the seaside resorts of Dawlish Warren (27 miles) and Teignmouth (20 miles).
The spacious abode is bright and airy, with high ceilings and large windows framing fabulous rural vistas. Exposed beams and stonework are offset against carefully chosen contemporary furniture and stylish accessories. At the heart of the home is a large lounge/kitchen/diner with a statement, central fireplace housing a cosy flame-effect gas fire - the perfect dozing spot for the pack. Spend time here after a day of adventure, cooking up a storm in the farmhouse-style kitchen and sharing mealtimes around the dining table. After dinner, snuggle up in the lounge area for a movie night around the Smart TV. From this floor, stairs lead down to two bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities. One of the bedrooms also has doors opening onto an outside decked area. The top floor of the property houses the final bedroom, again with en-suite facilities. Outside, enjoy your peaceful surroundings on the decked balcony as you share a family BBQ (charges apply) or sip on a glass of wine.
The beautiful Canonteign Falls (10 miles) make a lovely day out. You and your furry sidekicks can explore the picturesque walking trails around the lakes, share picnics by the water, and visit the highest waterfall in the South West. For a day at the coast, head to Teignmouth, with its traditional seaside shops and eateries, and a woof-friendly beach. You can also join the South West Coast Path here. For shopping and eating out, the cathedral city of Exeter is 17 miles away.
On occasion the hotel has private functions in it’s lounges, bar and restaurants that may affect their availability to our lodge guests.
For Guests booking over the Christmas & New Year period:
- Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are not available in the hotel from the afternoon of 24th until after breakfast on 27th December and again from the afternoon of 31st December until after breakfast on 2nd January.
- A pre-booked Christmas day lunch can be ordered to your lodge along with a restricted pre-booked lodge menu for the evenings of 24th, 26th, 31st December and 1st January.
- The main hotel bar and lounges are reserved exclusively for our hotel package guests on these days between noon and 8pm, but Smith’s Brasserie is open for drinks
- Prior to 24th December, 27th – 30th December and after 2nd January normal restaurant & bar opening times operate.
