Just a couple of miles from the northern banks of Bassenthwaite Lake, this stylish property makes a relaxing getaway for eight guests, with plenty of space for two pet pups. Perfect for larger families and groups of friends exploring the heart of the Lake District, this fantastic property offers stunning landscapes with chances to glimpse red squirrels and ospreys. Occupying an idyllic spot in glorious surroundings, this welcoming getaway features timber beams, a TV/media room, a large garden and a sunroom with a telescope.

Entering this welcoming property, the light-filled dual-aspect lounge is an ideal space to relax in, with plenty of seating, Smart TV, a chess table and a cosy wood burner. You can enjoy a fantastic meal in the sleek and fully equipped kitchen/diner which features a breakfast bar, separate dining table and glorious views. The media room makes a great space for children, with a TV, docking station, beanbags, and views over Bassenthwaite. Further views can be enjoyed from the sunroom which has children’s toys, a telescope for stargazing, and makes a pleasant spot for catching up with a good book. Heading upstairs there’s a first-floor shower room and four pretty bedrooms: a twin, two en-suite king-size rooms and an en-suite super-king-size room. Outside, the delightful, decked area is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening. There are several other seating areas in the large unenclosed gardens which are shared with the other properties on site.

Dogs are welcome throughout the region, whether exploring Whinlatter Forest Park, the grounds at Mirehouse or Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum (all within 10 miles). The property is close to both Bassenthwaite Lake (1.5 miles) and Derwentwater (7 miles), with the thriving town of Keswick home to some dog-friendly pubs and cafes.

Fantastic 4 bedroom house in ideal location for visiting all of the lakes. Very spacious and well equipped. Games room with pingpong table kept us all entertained on a rainy day. 2 outdoor seating areas and bbq available in outhouse. Parking for 3 cars which was ideal for us. The property was in a lovely location. The property was very well equipped and the layout downstairs worked very well for the whole family.However there was damp and mold in one of the bedrooms .The rest of the cottage was very clean and comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at Parkergate Farmhouse. Beautiful view. Spotlessly clean. Lovely bedding, comfy beds, excellent crockery and spotless glassware. The only downside was the number of steps inside the property, in bedrooms and bathrooms resulted in multiple trip hazards until we got used to them, this should be made clear on the listing.

A large cottage with useful rooms like a utility/drying room, a room to hang coats, a playroom for the children plus lots of bath/shower rooms. The manager of the property was very helpful when I phoned up. The views even in bad weather were delightful. The toys left out were great for our toddlers and the table-tennis for the adults. This is a superb property - great location, all the bedrooms are very good; there is plenty of seating in the dining and living room areas; there is also extra space downstairs including a carpeted area (where we did some yoga-type exercise) and a table tennis room (where we stored a pushbike). Parkergate Farmhouse has the most beautiful views looking westward across Bassenthwaite Lake. Its well equipped and comfortable with plenty of parking while Keswick and Cockermouth are easily accessible. Its a good base for the northern Lakes.
