Sitting above a stream with stunning rural views, this romantic retreat is one of a select collection of holiday properties on a working farm close to Ironbridge. Park your car then follow the path to double doors that welcome you into an open-plan living space where you’ll enjoy lots of companionable together-time. Quirky, comfortable and colourful, your holiday abode has a wood burner beside the sofa so you can snuggle up, watch TV and be warm whatever the weather outside. To one end, the kitchen area has all you’ll require to rustle up a tasty meal; eat at the dining table, perfectly positioned by the window, and Fido won’t have to move a paw to stay close at all times. At the far end of the hut, the sleeping area has double bed from which you can also watch the TV – lovely for lazy lie-ins with tea and toast! Once you’re ready to start your day, head over to your private shower and WC, set within a former pigsty just a few steps away. Lap up the views across the garden and sounds of the stream below as you sit on the decking – fire up the BBQ and it’s a perfect spot for al fresco dining as the sun goes down.
Guests are welcome to explore the farm and meet the resident cattle, or you can wander into nearby Leighton where the village inn is dog-friendly. For a step back in time, the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge is just 4.5 miles away, while the medieval town of Much Wenlock is 6 miles south. Just a few miles from the Welsh border, Shrewsbury (10 miles) is home to a whole host of listed buildings and has some lovely riverside walks. Alternatively, head 5 miles north to walk iconic Shropshire landmark The Wrekin – on a clear day the views from the top reach across 20 counties in England and Wales.
