Our Canine Critics know that their job isn’t just about sniffing out the UK’s best dog-friendly accommodation, attractions and products – it’s about looking good while doing it, too! So that’s why we asked three of our stylish Critics to review stylish accessories from Luna’s Loft – a UK-based business that specialises in handmade products for humans and hounds (well, and cats… but the less said about that, the better).
The team at Luna’s Loft handmake a range of dog-friendly accessories at their Cotswolds studio – from leads and collars to blankets and beds – in a range of sizes to fit the tiniest pup through to the heftiest hound. Luna’s Loft sent our Critics a super-chic frayed bandana each, perfect for looking the part on their adventures. Here’s what they thought:
Honey, South West Canine Critic
Well, what can I say about my Luna’s Loft bandana?! It’s super soft and my humans say I look so pretty in it, that it looks like it was made especially for me. I’ve been told its purpose is to keep me warm and looking stylish: I can repawt that it certainly does just that! I don’t have particularly long hair around my neck, so the bandana works so well for me and sits in just the right place. My humans got me a size large and it fits just right.
My absolute favourite thing about it is how warm and comfurtable it is – I feel like I’m wrapped in my own luxury wool scarf! It’s perfect for our chilly British weather and now I can be super warm while looking pawsitively fetching. On the other paw, it’s nice and lightweight so it also works well on those chillier summer evenings.
As my pawrents don’t get to wear the bandana (it looks far better on me anyway), they love how easy it is to put on and take off. It has super-tough poppers that they say are handy for putting it on me when I won’t keep still! This also means it stays on well all day, even when I zoom around the garden or try to chase the pesky squirrels at the park.
We both love the colours and style too: the frayed wool and patchwork design suits our county lifestyle down to the bone! The bandana is great for my adventurous lifestyle and would suit other dogs who love being outdoors and going on long winter walks. It’s also been said that I have excellent taste, and my new bandana definitely meets my standards.
Our rating is 10/10! This is because of the fantastic quality of the bandana, its super soft and cosy feel as well as its tough, easy-to-use poppers. It goes so perfectly with our adventurous lifestyle that I would buy it again quicker than I can eat a bag of treats (and that’s pretty darn fast)!

We were thoroughly impressed with the quality, sizing and style of Luna’s Loft bandanas. Our design featured a gorgeous blue and natural-toned wool tartan with delicate frayed edge.
The bandana includes three poppers on the back for easy attachment and removal which is perfect for day-to-day activities. We have always preferred this method of fastening as we think it’s both safer in the event of getting caught, in addition to not requiring the removal of the collar.
The bandana is easily washable and has stood up against our outings wonderfully this year; it sits well against the neck and is perfectly Penny sized. We really appreciate brands that can accommodate our girl’s larger-than-average neck size! Our tall lady always still wants to look her best and with Luna’s Loft, we have definitely achieved this.

I was asked to review Luna’s Loft’s Angus, a luxury frayed pet bandana (£19.99, size medium). For that, I would need a little help from the pawsome spaniel duo named Willow and Bobby!
It arrived very neatly folded and wrapped in brown paper with the logo printed on the front which was a nice touch.
Just the feel of the fabric tells you why they are called luxury bandanas. The fabric is a cotton and polyester blend which feels super soft but also gives it strength which, to be fair, is needed when two crazy spaniels are going to be wearing them. I absolutely love the tartan pattern and the shades of green in the fabric – something I would have chosen myself! The cute little wooden button with a picture of the logo engraved onto it adds to the charm of the bandana and its frayed edge gives it that sophisticated finish. A lot of time and love goes into making these items and it shows.
Both Bobby and Willow wear bandanas regularly but they are definitely not stay-at-home dogs – we like to go out and about exploring and that means dirt! But if I'm buying a luxury bandana and want them to look amazing, I want them to be able to wear them when we are on our travels. I'm always wary of allowing them to wear such a beautiful accessory on our walks! Believe me when I say they get in some states. It can be the driest of days and these two will find mud!
As it happened, it was a hot and sunny Saturday bank holiday weekend when I decided to put these beautiful bandanas to the test. After fastening them around their necks, off we went! The plastic popper fastenings made the bandanas very secure, so I was sure they'd stay put while they were racing around with each other.
We had a lovely walk up to the local fields where they ran around exploring and sticking their heads down rabbit holes. I was right: the bandanas did stay on.....result! However, they also got a bit grubby as I suspected they would.
The care instructions for these luxury bandanas are: machine wash at no more than 30 degrees (which was such a bonus because, let’s face it, who has time to hand-wash when there's adventures to be had?!), no higher than an 800 spin and another tip was to place the bandanas inside a fabric bag to protect the frayed edges. I didn't have a fabric bag, but a pillowcase did the job. I also sprayed the grubby marks with a delicate stain remover beforehand. The bandanas came out looking exactly like they did when they arrived – very impressive and definitely a selling point if you have a crazy, adventurous dog that you want to look as adorable in their bandanas as Willow and Bobby do in theirs (I’m biased, but isn't every dog mum?).
Luna's Loft bandanas definitely get the thumbs up from me and paws up from the spaniels. I mean, how cute do Willow and Bobby look in them?! The only problem is, with such a beautiful range of patterns which one can we buy next?
