This content competition is being run by Canine Cottages, part of The Travel Chapter Limited (Promoter). The Promoter’s full details can be found at the end of these Terms and Conditions.

By entering the competition, the entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by our User Generated Content Terms and Conditions (UGC Terms and Conditions), which apply throughout the competition.
Eligibility
The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 and over at the time of entry.
Employees (and their families) of the Promoter, associated agencies or anyone professionally connected with this competition are not eligible to enter.
In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
How to enter
No purchase is necessary to enter.
Entries will be accepted during the competition period which runs from 9am on 24 April until 11:59pm on 14 July 2026 and will be clearly communicated on our website and official social channels.
Entries to the competition must be made by completing both of the following steps:
- Share content on Instagram, TikTok or Facebookthat celebrates the theme“because of my dog”. Please note that:
- Entries must be shared as a public post, or as a comment on one of our Canine Cottages Collective posts on Facebook.
- Please note that temporary or removed content, including Stories, will not be accepted.
- Include the hashtag #CanineCottagesColletctive in your caption.
Late, incomplete or ineligible entries will not be accepted.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical default, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or sever failure of any kind.
The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications) or completed by third parties.
Additional entry information
- Tagging @caninecottages is not required for entry but is strongly encouraged, as it helps us and our online community find and enjoy your content.
- There is no limit to the number of entries an individual may submit, provided each entry uses unique content.
- Any single piece of content may only be entered once across all Canine Cottages competitions which are subject to the UGC Terms and Conditions.
The prize
One winner will be selected to receive a 7‑night stay for up to 8 people at Tides View, Appledore, subject to availability, and standard booking terms and conditions (the Stay).
The Stay will include the Accidental Deposit Waiver (as set out in the standard booking terms and conditions), but it will not include travel insurance, the cost of transfers, food and drink, spending money, tax or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
The Stay must be taken on arrival dates between 7 September and 14 December 2026, or 4 January and 28 June 2027.
The Promoter will contact the winner to confirm their preferred dates and arrange the booking.
The Stay is subject to availability and if it is no longer available, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Stay with a £3,000 Canine Cottages holiday voucher (Voucher). The Voucher would be valid for new bookings only and would need to be redeemed in full within 12 months of the issue date. Any holiday or holidays to be taken using the Voucher, would be subject to availability, and standard booking terms and conditions.
The prize (the Stay or the Voucher) is non-refundable and non‑transferable for sale. If the winner is unable to claim the prize, they may gift it to a friend or family member.
Intellectual property and content usage
You will keep ownership of all content (including videos and images) you submit as part of this competition (Entry Content).
By entering into this competition, you give us permission to use, share, repost and display your Entry Content, free of charge for the purposes of:
- running and administering the competition; and
- promoting the competition, the winner and our brands, products or services more generally.
Including, but not limited to, on our social media channels, websites, digital advertising, emails and other marketing materials.
We may edit, crop or adapt Entry Content where necessary (for example, to fit different platforms), but we will not use it in a way that is misleading or unfair.
This permission will last for as long as the Entry Content is reasonably required for the purposes described above.
Judging and winner selection
The winner will be notified via the social media account used to submit the Entry Content, no later than five working days after the competition closing date. If the selected winner does not respond within 3 working days, an alternative winner may be selected.
There is no limit to the number of times an individual may win a #CanineCottagesCollective competition, provided all entries are made using new and unique content.
The winner of the Because of My Dog competition will be chosen by an independent judge based on how well the entry reflects the theme “because of my dog” and aligns with Canine Cottages’ brand values. The judge’s decision will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.
The independent judge may take the following criteria into consideration:
- Visual Quality: All images and videos should be clear, well‑lit and in focus to best convey your message.
- Authenticity: Entry Content should show genuine, joyful moments enjoyed with your dog. We’re looking for real experiences and canine bonds.
- Responsible Tourism: We prioritise content that promotes responsible tourism. Entries should not include behaviour that contradicts these values, such as littering, disturbing wildlife, or accessing restricted or unsafe areas
- Wholesomeness: Entry Content must be appropriate and inoffensive. Entries should not include anything illegal, unsafe, or controversial, including (but not limited to) inappropriate behaviour, underage drinking, or offensive language.
The successful winner may be asked to participate in publicity arising out of the competition.
Data and privacy
All personal data submitted will be treated in accordance with UK GDPR and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
By entering the competition, the entrant consents to the processing of personal data for the purposes of administering and fulfilling the competition and such data will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
The Promoter will make available the surname and county of the winner to anyone who contacts the Promoter within 1 month of the closing date of the competition. If the winner objects to their surname and/or county of residence being published or made available, they should notify the Promoter of this when responding to the notification email to claim their prize. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority where requested, to indicate that a valid award took place under the competition.
General
The Promoter has the right to cancel, suspend or amend the competition and these Terms and Conditions, if necessary, due to unforeseen circumstances.
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstance be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize, except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents, distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or any other Social Network.
If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, in its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
The Terms and Conditions will be governed by English law, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
