After a nationwide search, these top ten dogs beat thousands and thousands of applicants to become this year’s adventure-loving pack of Canine Critics.
Our chosen Canine Critics have got the job of sniffing out some of the best dog-friendly accommodation, most exciting days out and interesting dog walks that the UK has to offer. Whether you’re looking for a paw-friendly beach or an inspiring holiday destination, our Critics will lead the way.
We had such an incredible response to this year’s competition – 62,884 entries(!) – that we decided to recognise a few well-deserved runners-up too! So once you've had a look at our winners, you can also have a nose at our Canine Critics runners-up 2020.
This year, instead of having regional winners, we categorised our pups into different groups with our winning Canine Critics ranging from The Mini Mutt to Critics' Choice. Take a look at a snapshot of our winners below and decide which of these loveable pups you will follow on his or her UK travels by reading their reviews.

As many of you know, our Canine Critics are here to act as your eyes and paws on the ground by exploring the UK and reporting back to Canine HQ on their findings.
They are going to seek out the best travel destinations, visit dog-friendly attractions and pubs, and inspect our cottages across the UK. You’ll get a whole lot of wonderful insight about how to holiday in our fantastic country from these dogs and owners who know their stuff.
Between them, we reckon our Canine Critics will quickly become a fountain of knowledge when it comes to pet-friendly UK holidays. You can keep updated on their travels and you'll be able to read first-hand accounts of each of their trips. We can’t wait to read about all their adventures, but for now, read the first ones below.

Mandallagh Cottage review by Talyn: Canine Critics 2020
It’s time to unearth the rare specimen that is Talyn, the Norwegian Lundehund. Maybe the fact that he has six toes helped him win our Rarity category in the 2020 Canine Critics’ Awards, but we don't mind! He took his mums (lucky them!) to the Isle of Skye for a week of rugged landscape walks, barking at sheep and sniffs. Read on.
Yar Brook View review by Daphne: Canine Critics 2020
Daphne the Chiweenie just oozes style. She cooly sauntered past the competition to pick up her Mini Mutt accolade at the Canine Critics' Awards 2020. We recognised this win by rewarding her and her Humans with a week away on the idyllic Isle of Wight. Fetch her review below.
Madoc’s Barn review by Fredrick and Royston: Canine Critics 2020
A brother will always stand by you, or in this case, sit by you, sit on you, run with you, play with you and holiday with you! Fredrick and Royston won our Siblings category and took their Mams to stay in a beautiful barn on the English/Welsh border. Click below to find out why love is a four-legged word.
Deepdean Dexters Den review by Yogi: Canine Critics 2020
Yogi Bear the Newfoundland is a deserving winner of our 2020 Hero category. He's a Therapet who works with children with learning disabilities and is also a Water Rescue Dog. He took his hoomans to Ross-on-Wye to discover an animal sanctuary and ageing architecture, amongst other things. Read his review by clicking below.
