Dog-friendly holiday accommodation in Seatown

An attractive coastal hamlet with a privately owned shingle beach, Seatown is one of the best-kept secrets in dog-friendly Dorset. It is just 3 miles from popular West Bay, accessed via a country road that hugs the banks of the River Winniford which opens out into the sea at the beach.

The beach is a top spot for fossil hunting and a wonderful place for out-of-season dog walks (seasonal restrictions apply), with outstanding views of the coastline. One of the most comfortable perches from which to enjoy the scenery is the dog-friendly Anchor Inn pub, where you can tuck into delicious local seafood against the majestic backdrop of Golden Cap.

While dogs aren’t allowed on Seatown beach during the summer months, there’s a great choice of beaches nearby along the Jurassic Coast where they can roam to their heart’s content. Neighbouring Eype (3.4 miles) is a lesser-visited beach which is dog-friendly year-round, perfect for a sunset stroll and forage for fossils. Cogden Beach also welcomes dogs all year. Part of Chesil Beach, it offers wonderful views and is a favourite among anglers, as well as dog walkers.

Inland, there are a plethora of places to add to your itinerary close to our dog-friendly Dorset cottages, from the market town of Bridport, to the historical county town of Dorchester. There are a multitude of dog-friendly attractions too, not least the Dinosaur Museum (20 miles), Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens (12.5 miles) and Forde Abbey Gardens (14.5 miles).

Our dog-friendly cottages in Seatown and nearby provide a comfortable base for you and your pooch to holiday together. Some of our dog-friendly holiday homes have enclosed gardens, others enjoy open outlooks and walks right from the doorstep. A range of dog and family-friendly houses, cosy cottages for two and beautiful group houses in Seatown are waiting to host you and your pet.
