The property is set within 3 acres of shared grounds, which you and the pup are free to explore. You’ll be just 2 miles from the historic town of Hexham, where you can take gentle strolls along the river or spend an action-packed day at the races. You can also join the Hadrian’s Wall Path just 22 miles from the cottage.
The charming property offers a warm welcome, with a characterful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner featuring exposed beams and cute homely touches. The dual-aspect space is bathed in natural light, creating perfect sunny dozing spots for the hound. The space is calm and relaxing, with stunning countryside views – the ideal place to curl up with a good book on a lazy afternoon. Outside, there’s a patio table and chairs to dine alfresco on warm sunny evenings, after a long walk with your canine chum around the impressive surrounding parklands.
Head into Hexham for a stroll around the magnificent grounds of the abbey, potter around the open-air market or take a romantic riverside wander. Alternatively, get the heart pumping and the tail wagging with a fun day out at the races. Hexham Racecourse has a busy diary of events and races throughout the year and woofers on leads are welcome along the course and in all outdoor areas. Step back in time with a dog walk along the Hadrian’s Wall Path. The 73-mile route passes fascinating temples, Roman bath houses and numerous excavation sites and the rugged scenery is breathtaking. You can join it at Walltown Crags, an English Heritage site just 22 miles away.
