Nestled between the Lake District and North Pennines, this stylish cabin is set within glorious surroundings on the Calthwaite Hall estate. It’s the largest holiday lodge on-site, ideal for families with children and one canine. With walking routes leading directly from your doorstep, you and your four-legged friend can be appreciating nature at its best in no time. Spend evenings under the stars in the covered private hot tub, whatever the weather.

Inside, the open-plan living space feels very warm and welcoming, with a comfortable corner sofa and flame-effect electric fire. Watch your favourite shows on the Smart TV with Rover curled up at your feet, and tuck into hearty family meals at the dining table. Both bedrooms also have TVs so you can enjoy the luxury of watching the breakfast news or late-night shows in bed. The master bedroom also has a shower room. On warm days, sit out on the rattan furniture on the decked area with afternoon tea or a sizzling BBQ feast, not forgetting a few doggy treats too!

With its lush green countryside and sandstone villages, the surrounding Eden Valley is well worth exploring with your faithful friend. Enjoy walks along the River Eden and take on the challenging Cross Fell route (13 miles) if you’ve got plenty of stamina. The historic market town of Penrith (7 miles) also lies in the valley. Here, pick up local produce from the farmers’ market to make something delicious for tea. For an adventure in the Lake District, head to Ullswater (16 miles) and take to the water on the famous steamboat; dogs are welcome aboard for a small charge.

Really lovely location with lovely staff. The Lodge was lovely and the hot tub was nice and private and it was great that it had a canopy over it so it could be used in all weathers.

The cottage was home from home, it had everything you needed. It was very clean and comfortable. To get in the hot tub at the end of a day walking was just amazing!
