Enjoy different walkies every day: the Lake District is close, with Pooley Bridge at the northern end of Ullswater 13.5 miles away. The popular towns of Penrith (8 miles) and Keswick (20 miles) are also within striking distance while 11 miles north, Carlisle sits just shy of the Scottish border; visit for its laid-back city vibe, historic castle and walkies along Hadrian’s Wall.
