Escape to this characterful and welcoming Georgian retreat in the Hope Valley area of the Peak District. Lead the way to adventure with your family of eight and your dog, as no holiday is complete without them.
You will enter this property through the sunny conservatory which has a sofa for relaxing with a book or checking maps for the day ahead. Leading from here is a farmhouse kitchen which contains a large table and everything you need for cooking up a storm for all guests. Curl up with the dog in the spacious lounge that has plenty of seating where you can socialise together. An adjacent dining room provides a further space for more formal meals. A study and a WC complete the ground floor. As the day turns to night, climb the stairs to the four bedrooms. Choose from two king-size bedrooms, a double bedroom which has its own en-suite shower room, or a twin bedroom. Finally, a family bathroom has a sumptuous freestanding bath and a separate shower. Outside, the sun trap of a garden has seating and a BBQ, ideal for evenings dining alfresco and admiring the views.
Set off on foot and paw right from the doorstep into the beautiful Peak District National Park. Visit Cave Dale (1 mile), a scenic valley with picturesque views, or climb the towering Mam Tor and Black Tor (3 miles). Castleton (0.5 miles) has several dog-friendly pubs for evening meals when you don’t fancy cooking. Take to the water on a paddle board at the iconic Ladybower Reservoir, which is just 6 miles from the cottage.
