Set your sights on this delightful property for an unforgettable staycation in the Wye Valley with all the family, waggy-tailed members included. Located on the edge of the historic village of Goodrich and based in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it’s perfect for groups of up to six guests accompanied by a beloved hound. Your days will be spent exploring the stunning landscape, but at night the crackling wood burner awaits along with the promise of good wine, delicious food, and excellent company.

Surrounded by beautiful shared gardens, this 14th-century property combines contemporary style with quirky traditional details, the most notable being the original cider press in the kitchen, which has been converted into a handy kitchen island. Character beams, exposed stone, and wooden floorboards add to the overall ambience, and the wood burner in the open-plan living space is a wonderful extra detail. The first bedroom is on the ground floor and has use of the downstairs wet room and access to a separate entrance leading from the parking area. Climb the stairs to find the remaining two bedrooms, each one featuring crisp linen and an en-suite bathroom. There’s even a useful cloakroom upstairs to take care of any muddy clothes and paws. Outside, you’ll have exclusive use of a private terrace with a BBQ and furniture, and there is ample parking.

Discover an array of scenic walks from your doorstep, investigating the various trails through the countryside and exploring the mysterious remains of the once imposing castle. Fishermen will adore the opportunity to fish for salmon in the River Wye, which is also a goldmine for adventure-seekers keen to take to the water by canoe. There is plenty to tempt the aspiring foodie with fresh local delicacies such as cider, artisan bread, cheese and meat available throughout the area.

This is a very nice cottage. Bedrooms are large with comfortable beds, nice ensuite facilities. Plenty of space indoors and out for six people. The outdoor area is very nice with views, but not private. The kitchen is very well equipped. Our only issue with the property was the tv's. Bedrooms tv's didn't work at all, the living room set had no liveRead more TV. Not great if you have kids and the weather is bad. Reported on our 2nd day but not fixed. Walk to town is by a narrow path alongside a busy road Hide

Very spacious and well fitted-out house. Interesting historical features (cider press) still present. Lovely patio space at rear of house leading out onto spacious grounds - ideal for outdoor games etc. Excellent location from which to visit places in the Wye valley. The nearby Goodrich castle is particularly worth a visit.
