There’s a bedroom on the ground floor with a stunning en-suite shower room, and a bathroom off the hall. You’ll find the seoncd bedroom upstairs, and another gorgeous en-suite shower room. Enjoy evenings al fresco on the patio taking in the awesome views, wander to the pretty woodland, and give the pups a good run in the enclosed field at the end of the garden.

Set out and explore the land around the farm with a walk to the river, then visit Ennerdale Water (less than 2 miles away) for a lovely forest walk along the lake’s edge. Pop into Ennerdale Bridge (less than 0.5 miles) for a drink and meal at the pubs or a coffee out. St Bees is worth visiting for a walk on the promenade and a lazy day on the beach (7 miles). Go Ape at Whinlatter (17 miles) or take on the challenging Catbells (26 miles) with your canine companions.

Whilst the cottage is in the countryside and very peaceful and quiet, the garden is not fully enclosed. We would recommend a dog is kept on a lead if they are prone to exploring.

A lovely cottage but the walk to the village is along a road (no footpath), not very nice as traffic doesn't appear to make any effort to slow down for walkers and late evening it's a little unnerving (would advise a good torch and a high viz). We can recommend the food at the local Shepherds Arms Hotel.

Our long awaited trip to the Lakes and staying in the Nook was certainly well worth the wait (I thought I had booked it for Jan 25 then realised my mistake on the dates!). What a fab property, so well refurbished and high end finish- the underfloor heating system makes is so comfortable even in a howling January winds and the log burner in the douRead moreble height lounge make sit even cosier. Great location to access the quieter West lakes and coastline also, plus the easy 10 min walk into the village which for its size is excellent- 2 great pubs with good food and friendly hospitality, plus the Gather for extra facilities. Would book it again in a heartbeat! Hide

A beautiful and comfortable cottage in a quiet location on the edge of Ennerdale village. The cottage is immaculately presented with more than enough kitchen equipment. With a downstairs large bedroom and ensuite itll suit those not wishing to go upstairs, but be wary, that the ensuite electric shower only has warm water when on max. This has beenRead more mentioned a few times. The Fox and Hounds pub and The Gather caf both in the village and worth a visit. Ennerdale Lake not far and great flat walks at the lake. Hide

Never did figure out which was the enclosed field for the dog, but none of them had fences high enough to let our husky off, which was the main reason for booking it. We had a great time here. Accommodation was very comfortable. The garden was charming , you do need to be vigilant if you let your dogs out, unfenced and lots of temptations! No views from the house but a very peaceful setting and easy drives to the more dramatic scenery.

Lovely cottage in a great location for exploring the area. So well equipped, comfortable, spacious and clean. The garden areas were great to explore with our dog and well maintained. Beautifully designed annex joining two farm houses. The rooms are spacious and the decor thoughtfully designed. It was well equipped and the location is gorgeous, backing on to a small forested area, surrounded by nature. The only negative was the enclosed field for the dog to run in. The grass was so long, that the dog would get soaking wet, and sRead moreeeds and ticks would stick to his fur. It's important to be environmentally friendly but a cut every few weeks would have made such a difference. Hide

Just spent a week in this great property in a beautiful and peaceful location. Very pleasantly surprised that the photos do not really do the property justice, it was immaculately presented, well equipped and finished to a very high standard. Superb stay. The Nook is beautifully presented and in a stunning location where you can enjoy the western lakes from the doorstep. We walked the nearby mountains right from the door to tick off a few new Wainwrights during our stay.
