Located on a peaceful smallholding near Strumble Head in Pembrokeshire, this charming countryside cottage is one of three characterful retreats for families, friends, or couples travelling with a four-legged companion. With a wood burner to warm the paws and scenic footpaths starting right from the front door, it’s a dream base for tail-wagging wanders through wildflower meadows, coastal trails, and sleepy villages.
Step through the hallway of this warm and welcoming home and enter into the lounge, where a comfortable sofa, Smart TV, and crackling wood burner invite you to unwind. To the right, you’ll find a handmade wooden kitchen and a spacious dining table for meals. The ground floor also features a twin bedroom with its own en-suite shower room – ideal for guests who prefer to avoid stairs. Upstairs, there’s a cosy king-size bedroom, a second twin room, and a family bathroom. Organic linens and towels are provided throughout in keeping with the eco-conscious ethos of this thoughtful retreat. Outside, a gravel courtyard with a picnic bench offers the perfect setting for al fresco breakfasts or starlit suppers. Although canine pals should be kept on a lead around the smallholding, there are acres of meadows and woodland nearby where they can stretch their legs and sniff out new adventures. Guests are also welcome to explore the wider land of the farm and say hello to the resident animals. There’s private parking for two cars and EV charging available too.
Just 3 miles away, Goodwick is a lively harbour town where your pup can keep an eye out for seabirds and curious seals. The nearby town of Fishguard (4.5 miles) is a treat for walkies, with peaceful coves and rugged cliff-top paths to discover together. The 3-mile route to Strumble Head Lighthouse is a must – this dramatic spot on its own little island often delivers unforgettable sunsets not to be missed. If your hound enjoys a beach run, Abermawr (3.5 miles) is a pebbly, peaceful stretch framed by earthy cliffs, while the small, sandy cove at Pwllgwaelod (9.5 miles) provides more dog-friendly shoreline with sweeping views across Fishguard Harbour.
