Tucked away on a peaceful smallholding at Strumble Head in Pembrokeshire, this spacious and eco-friendly cottage is a true haven for families, friends, couples and, of course, your canine companion is warmly welcomed too. With sea views, glorious sunsets, and acres of fields to explore, it’s the kind of place that sets tails wagging from the moment you arrive.
One of three properties on site, inside, the cottage is packed with character and has sustainability at its heart, where natural materials create a calm and inviting space. The open-plan layout means everyone can relax together, whether lounging by the wood burner, tucking into dinner around the large dining table, or whipping up a meal in the beautifully handcrafted wooden kitchen. On the ground floor, there’s a twin bedroom with an en-suite wet room. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom offers peaceful views, although it’s accessed via an alternate tread staircase, so may not be suitable for everyone. You’ll find only organic towels and linen here, and the property runs on solar thermal energy with its own private water supply. Step outside to a gravel courtyard with a dining area for sunny breakfasts or stargazing with a glass in hand. Dogs need to be on the lead around the smallholding, but you’re surrounded by acres of open meadow and woodland to explore, and you're welcome to meet the resident farm animals at old Llandruidion Farm. Private parking for two cars is available.
Take the lead to enjoy footpaths from the doorstep to the rugged coastline, 1.5 miles away. Sniff out the iconic Strumble Head Lighthouse (3 miles), head to Goodwick (3 miles) for water sports and wildlife-watching, or venture to Fishguard (4.5 miles) to discover dramatic cliffs, secret coves, and winding trails perfect for your loyal trail-mate. Pwllgwaelod Beach (9.5 miles) is a year-round dog-friendly stretch of sand with views over Fishguard Harbour.
